In this piece, I accentuated specific muscles of the model to convey the tension present in this form. As I drew, I imagined that the subject was a ballerina who had been shot in the back. During the hour, I felt that the model's emotional stance affected my mood, and I found myself in an internal dialogue between myself and the figure. The ballerina’s sudden stop captures the surge of energy in reserve, thus creating the tension that I was inspired to depict.
